LP: Bulaklak

Hehehe...

{This is one of my favorite flowers - tulips. I received this particular bouquet from DH during Valentine's Day. There is a somewhat funny story to this...

Day before Valentine's, we went to Costco to buy flowers for MIL. I told DH that I was going to buy myself a bunch of flowers too and those would be from him. And I did because during our anniversary a month ago, he failed to give me flowers like he would do every year.

And so to my surprise, this greeted me when I went into our toilet the next morning. Yes, he put it there because he knew that was the first place I'd go to immediately after getting out of bed. The funny thing is he had bought me flowers even before I ribbed him about getting myself flowers. *smile*}

Love Songs A to Z

Angie over at ScrapArtist challenged us girls to come up with our A to Z love song playlist. The "rules" were that only up to 2 songs from one artist. And you can choose to use the artist/band's name instead of songs for up to 2 instances only.
They hybrid team posted a challenge over the THE HUB yesterday with a CD/DVD template freebie. You can use it to make the CD holder for your A to Z love song playlist.
Anyway, here's my playlist. I limited myself to the songs we have in our collection. I'm actually burning these and giving them to some of my girl friends tomorrow when we see each other.

A - All my Life by Kci & Jojo
B - Better Together by Jack Johnson

Ready for Valentine's Day?

My kids' valentines have been made, signed and ready to be handed out to their classmates tomorrow. I did not want mushy cards. These are kids, for goodness sake! So when I saw these valentine treat toppers by Kate Hadfield, I just knew I was going to use them! Well, initially, I contemplated on designing the Valentines myself but in the end, I decided that I really did not want to "waste" my time designing them. These valentines are just too cute. They are originally designed to be treat bag toppers. But I had put aside these air heads from the loot bags I put together for the bday parties last month, I just slipped them between the 2 sides and stapled it.
Do you have anything special planned for tomorrow?
Us, none that I know of. LOL!
I realize that DH and I are not a very romantic couple. We're both too pragmatic for our own good! LOL! I've read somewhere that one of the secrets to a relationship's longevity is being able to maintain romance in the marriage. I wonder how we stack up. I think having 4 children has really put a damper on our romance. LOL! We do try - sometimes. Oh well... I remember an elderly couple that was a friend of the family who were such a sweet couple well into their golden years. It was such a delight to watch them. They both adored each other. have you watched or read "The Notebook" by Nicholas Sparks? It reminded me of this elderly couple I once knew. I'd like to have that in my old age, y'know? That would be divine!

Love is in the air ...

Whoa! February is here already! and of course, that means Valentine's Day is nearing. Personally, I'm not a big celebrator of Valentine's Day. Never have been. The most memorable Valentine's Day would most probably be that in 1998.
I did not have a BF, was not even dating! But I received a dozen red roses that day, much to my surprise! They came from my now DH. He and I had been friends but he was in the US while I was in the Philippines. So, I was surprised and baffled when he sent flowers. Was he making a move? What were his intentions? I was bent on finding out. We've been friends for too long to have to beat around the bush. One of the things I appreciated about him was that I did not have to second-guess him. We tell it like it is.
So, I asked him, "What were the flowers for? Do you want to court me?" LOL...yeah, I was straightforward.
He answered, "Can't someone send flowers to a friend?"
"Uh-huh...a dozen red roses on Valentine's Day to a friend..."
Was that the gender differences thing again?
Was the significance and meaning of his gesture seriously lost on this man? Apparently so because he insists until now that he really just thought of sending me flowers out of the blue. I tell him though that it was probably his subconscious that prompted him to send me flowers. LOL! Yeah, deep down...even when he did not want to admit it ... he liked me more than a friend! LOL!!!
Ok, enough of the cheesy stuff.
Onto enabling...
ScrapArtist is having a promo sale, "14 ways to adore you" It started on Feb. 1 and will last till the 14th. A designer will debut a product each day and will be on sale for $2 for 24 hours then it goes back to its regular price.
There is also a new collab kit, "Painted Love" with Zoe Pearn. It's full of lovey-dovey goodness!

I was able to scrap too! Woohoo! I used the collab kit of course.
For full credits, you can view them in my gallery.

Oh, and this month I am lucky to be the guest CT member for Janet Philips. She's got some wonderful templates! I bet that you're going to see more scraps from me this month because I'll be using her templates a lot! So, watch out for it, ok?
