My Seal of Approval

You know how products are given seals of approval by say... Good Housekeeping? Or how beauty mags like Glamour take their top picks from beauty products?

Well, I'd like to give my own seal of approval to these 3 products! Not that it matters really but if you're reading this, you might want to try them based on a good review from a real mom. :)

1. Kid's cones from Joy cone co.
These small cones are the perfect size!!! My kids love eating their ice cream on cones. Who doesn't? However, it just gets too messy that we almost always end up putting them in a cup. These small cones are perfect. It's small enough that the kids are able to lick up all the ice cream before dripping all over. Personally, I also love it for portion control. I can give them 2 cones and they're ecstatic! And for myself, I can get 1 and have my ice cream fix without getting too guilty. Haha.

2. Tart Mango yogurt blend from Dreyers
I'm usually not a big fan of frozen yogurt but this one I like! It's a yummy blend of sweet and tart. It is soooo good. The texture is creamy and fluffy...yummmm. Just thinking about it makes me wanna get some from my freezer right now!

Lest you think that food is all we love in this household and that it might be time for me to go looking through lipofuze reviews and other fat burners (which would not be a bad idea but that's a different post altogether!), I present to you my last favorite product...

3. Nexcare Tattoo Waterproof Bandages
When I first saw this, I was quite hesitant to buy them because they were labeled "tattoo". I'm really not that eager to walk my kids into the tattoo path this early on. But these bandages were on sale plus I had some coupons off for them so I bought them. Now I will not use anything else on my kids. They stick like none I've ever seen before. No matter how many baths and showers and hand washing, they stay stuck until you or your little person decide it's time to take them off. I love them. My kids love them. I just wish that my local store carries other designs aside from the princess line.

There you have it. My first installment of this mom's seal of approval!

All Thumbs UP!!

We took the family to see the movie, "UP" yesterday at our local movie theater. We had planned on seeing it last weekend when it opened but everyone was sick so the plan was scrapped. Fortunately, DH was off yesterday so we got to watch it, and in 3D at that!

Verdict? Absolutely awesome!!

It's a really beautiful story with enough parts to please both grown-up and kiddie tastes. I must admit that there were a couple of times that I shed some tears. And of course, DH continues to tease me about it. I really enjoyed this film. It also held the attention of all my kids throughout the whole movie. Yes, even DD3's attention was glued to the widescreen.

Seeing it in 3D was fun but nothing is really taken away if you see it in regular showing.

Just something funny...

When I saw that DD2 took off her 3D glasses, I told her to put them back on so she could watch it more clearly, to which she replied...

"But they're walking to me! Why are they walking to me?!"

Hahahaha...

Anyway, if you get the chance to watch the movie, go see it. It's worth seeing it in the theater! You certainly get your money's worth. :)

Pantone Huey

Look what I got over the weekend! It's a Pantone Huey to calibrate the computer monitor. I was able to score a sweet deal at Amazon and got this for an amazing price with free shipping. I've been interested in getting one - not necessarily this brand but something to calibrate the monitor. I've noticed that my prints print out darker than what I see in my monitor so I've been very cautious about my photo editing. I want to start more creative photo processing but I don't trust my monitor to give me accurate results. When I saw this at Jessica Sprague's blog, I figured that if she thinks it's worth it, then it's worth exploring, right?
I was so excited yesterday when I hooked it up on my laptop. the set-up was very easy. Then the results ... BOO! It didn't calibrate my laptop very well. The uncorrected colors were a closer match to my prints than the corrected one. There was just a greenish cast on the screen. At first, I thought that I just need some getting use to it. But no, really, there was definitely a greenish cast. It isn't so noticeable with graphics and web browsing but I definitely notice it on skin tone. Blech!
I tried it on our LCD desktop monitor and it did its job much better there. I definitely noticed an improvement from the onset. I'm really disappointed that it does not work with the laptop though coz I do most of my work on my laptop. I specifically bought the Huey for use on my laptop which is an HP Pavilion, fyi.
There might be some hope for me yet. At the Pantone support, they said that they were offering a fix for those who were experiencing the same problems as I have with the color cast. I sent my info in yesterday(Sunday) so I'm hoping to get some sort of response today or tomorrow.
I'm crossing my fingers and hope it works. Otherwise, I'll definitely have a negative review for it over at Amazon. Hmp!
