Pearly shells...
...on the water...In less than 24 hours, DH and I will be enjoying the warm weather of Hawaii. I am SO excited! I have always wanted to go and finally being able to go with DH to celebrate 10 years of marriage is awesome! We'll be gone for 4 days but as I looked at the things to do over there, it feels like we'll need more time. As we try to plan our days, I keep reminding DH and myself that while we want to make the most of our trip, we also have to remember that this is a time to reconnect. We haven't spent this much time together, just the two of us, for the past 10 years. DH passed out Black and Mild cigars barely a year after our wedding to welcome the birth of our first born son. The other girls soon followed every 2 years after. While we love our kids and cherish our times with them, it will be such a welcome break to get away and just be husband and wife.
I am excited, yes, but a little anxious...just a wee bit. This will be the first time we will be away from them for this long. I do not only need to prepare what I will need for Hawaii, but also prepare what the kids will need while I am away. This means having to pre-prepare dinner for the 4 nights we will be away, wash and fold their clothes, make arrangements for the basketball game of DS, prepare the lessons for DD1 and DD2. The preps are just stressing me out a bit. I'm wishing that I could just get up and leave. Sigh.
Gotta go now as there are loads of laundry to be done and dinners to prepare. It will all be worth it though. By this time tomorrow, I will be enjoying the sights of Hawaii.
Aloha!
