A Fine Young Man

For close to 2 weeks now, my youngest brother has been visiting. He arrived from the Philippines and will be on his way to New York to study at Fordham University. He was able to obtain a scholarship for a 2-year masters program. That he is a genius, intellectually-gifted, this I had always known. But for the past several days, I had gotten to know my bro more as a person.

I am the oldest among my siblings. He is the youngest. When I got married in 2000 and left for the US, he was still in highschool. My image of him was the young teen he was back then. Through the years, my parents would update me on his achievements as they would of my other brothers.

My brother's stay here has given me chance to spend more time with him, talk to him, discuss, reminisce and simply enjoy his company, along with my children. I've come to realize that he has grown into a fine young man that I could get along with. I can honestly say that I've enjoyed the time he's spent here with us. I am grateful we got this chance. He is no longer the young teenager I left in Manila in 2000. He is now a confident young man ready to face all that the future may hold.

Thanks bro3 for visiting. See you at Christmas. Proud to be your big sis!
