Raingutter Regatta

I'm one proud mama!

DS' cub scout pack held their rain gutter regatta yesterday. And he won second place overall! It was a 4th grader that beat him.

They had these rain gutter lanes filled with water. The boys then had to blow their boats towards the finish line. DS first won first place in his den, then competed with the other boys for the pack standings. He placed 2nd!! Only good strong breaths for this little guy! Well, he's not so little anymore. LOL!

He was so proud of his accomplishment too. And to have beaten all these other older boys was a huge thing to him. Go go DS!

His social activities sure are increasing.
For now, we've limited his after school activities to scouting. They have den meetings every other Wednesday and pack meetings once a month. The regatta yesterday takes the place of their monthly pack meeting for May.

He also receives a lot of birthday invitations from his classmates. He does not get to go to everything. It would be crazy! But this Thursday will be a special birthday celebration. One of his classmates will be celebrating his birthday at the local fire station! They'll be walking to the fire station from the school and have pizza and stuff with the firefighters. They will even get to ride the fire truck! How cool is that!? What I find even cooler is the Mom who thought of this! This is such an awesome idea. It's the perfect bday celebration for a 7-yr old.
