Red Ribbon Week

It's red ribbon week at DS' school. They'll be having various activities and resource speakers come and speak to the different grade levels. I like that they have age-appropriate topics. For the first-graders, it is more like getting to know the police, etc.
Today, they had horse cops come in. DS really enjoyed the ponies and learning how they helped the sheriff's department. A couple members of the department came too, garbed in horse riding apparel. The rest were working, helping with the wildfire evacuations, I believe.
This visit by the ponies were all that DS could talk about when I picked him up from school today. He's really looking forward to other activities that are set for them this week.
