Sunday Seven

Another weekend has arrived.
We have had the opportunity to live, love, and enjoy another week of life.
We invite you to link with each of us in sharing our joys, concerns, victories, epiphanies, or whatever else you'd like to share. Our goal is to become a community in which we can take our minds away, for a couple of days, from the task of just "making it through the day" and focus on inner growth, self-improvement, new understanding, and thankfulness. As a community, we can each take strength from each other and offer encouragement to others as we get to know each other better.

I've been listening to our local Christian radio station on a regular basis now. It's what is on when I take the kids to and from school. I'm not much of a radio person but DD2 is. Yes, she is a toddler but the moment the car starts moving, she never fails to remind me to turn the music on.

Anyhoo, this week, I'm sharing 7 songs that stir something within me each and every time I listen to them.

1. Voice of Truth by Casting Crowns
Chorus:
But the voice of truth tells me a different story
The voice of truth says, "Do not be afraid!"
The voice of truth says, "This is for My glory"
Out of all the voices calling out to me
I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth

2. Arms of Love by Amy Grant (an oldie but always a fave of mine)
I have found a place where I can hide.
Its safe inside
Your arms of love.
Like a child whos helped throughout a storm,
You keep me warm
In your arms of love.

3. Enough by Chris Tomlin
All of you is more than enough for all of me
For every thirst and every need
You satisfy me with your love
And all I have in you is more than enough

4. Who am I by Casting Crowns
Who am I?
That the Lord of all the earth,
Would care to know my name,
Would care to feel my hurt.
Who am I?
That the bright and morning star,
Would choose to light the way,
For my ever wandering heart.

Not because of who I am,
But because of what you've done.
Not because of what I've done,
But because of who you are.

5. I smile by Russ Lee
I smile when I think about
The way You've turned my life around
I smile when I think about
The happiness in You I've found
I'm so amazed at what Your love has done
And when I think the best is yet to come
I smile!

6. Held by Natalie Grant
This is what it means to be held.
How it feels when the sacred is torn from your life
And you survive.
This is what it is to be loved.
And to know that the promise was
When everything fell we’d be held.

7. How great is our God by Chris Tomlin
The splendor of a King,
Clothed in majesty
Let all the earth rejoice,
All the earth rejoice
He wraps himself in light,
And darkness tries to hide
And trembles at his voice,
And trembles at his voice

How great is our God,
sing with me
How great is our God,
and all will see
How great, How great
Is our God

these are some great ones! Nothing moves me like Christian music. One of my alltime favs is Steve Green's "Find Us Faithful!" What a challenge to remember our responsibility to those who come behind us!
