An Answered Prayer

We've been praying for a specific job for DH: an orthopedic position with a specific company. This was given to us last year. His commute was toxic though. He would get home dead tired. Once his body hits the couch, you will not be able to pry him out of it until the next morning! It has even become a family joke. Once we see him heading towards the couch, we all laugh and cry out, "Uh-oh! He's headed to the couch!"

Personally, I felt that there must be a better place for him to work. Surely the Lord wants us to have a better quality of life with DH. So we prayed again. This time we prayed that he is able to transfer to a workplace nearer to our home.

After only 6 months, our prayers were answered! Thank God! He starts orientation next week at the new facility. It is still with the same company but a different service area. There is a newly-opened facility that is maybe a little over 10 miles from where we live! Woohoo! It's a brand-new hospital with state-of-the-art equipment I would assume. I'm not sure if they do laser spinal surgery here but I wouldn't be surprised if they do.

At a time when a lot of people are having a difficult time finding a job, I am grateful that DH is able to work in the field he likes at a place that takes care of their employees. That he will be working so close to home thus reducing his fatigue and our gasoline usage is a huge plus and a blessing that we will be forever grateful for.

Hi stumbled upon your blog and am blessed by what I read. That life is tough and I'm not the only one in this world with long hours at the office.

God bless you and family
