My Piece of the Vineyard

Jesus said to the chief priests and the elders of the people:
"Hear another parable.
There was a landowner who planted a vineyard,
put a hedge around it,
dug a wine press in it, and built a tower.
Then he leased it to tenants and went on a journey."
Matthew 21:33

I am a tenant in God's vineyard. My family, my kids - they are a piece of the vineyard that's been leased to me. They are not my own but have been entrusted to me by my Master. It is an honor, a special privilege to have been granted stewardship of a piece of God's vineyard. The responsibility can be daunting at times. Yet, I know that God has equipped me to be able to care for my family. Sometimes I forget that and I am overwhelmed. But in some way, God embraces me and encourages me. Sometimes I make mistakes and feel ashamed. But God continues to embrace and encourage me. Then there are times when I feel victorious because I know that I was the face of God to my children. And then God embraces me and says, "Well done faithful servant."
