Naturally Domesticated

DD1: Mom, how do you sew?
Me: Why?
DD1: Well, because {sister}'s pants has a hole in it and I want to sew it. Can you teach me how?

I was quite surprised to have this conversation with her. She is after all only 5 years old and yet already showing much interest in domesticity it seems. I can only conclude that she is naturally domesticated because she definitely is not learning that from me!

Even when she was younger, she had already shown signs of being inclined to be maternal. She has always been very nurturing towards her younger sisters. I remember that when she was a toddler, she tried to change her baby sister's diapers. I actually came into the room with her in the crib putting on the new diaper already! She continues to be "mini-Mommy" till now. Just yesterday, she comes down the stairs and tells me, "Do you know why I took so long upstairs? Because I folded my clothes and {sister}'s too."

A little bit later,

"{baby sister} made a mess with the cream cheese but don't worry Mom, I cleaned it up. First, I wet a paper towel to wipe it then a dry paper towel."

Seriously, can she get any more Mommy-like? LOL!

She is a doll, you lucky mom, you have your big helper at home. :) I hope my kids will be this way as well.
Have a great weekend, Joy!
