Updates...updates...

I've been completely offline since Saturday. Since last week, I've been very scarce around digiland. Yes, even more scarce than my regular "lurking" status. I've been very busy. Who isn't, right?

Anyway, I've got projects to show for my busy-ness. Our community had our Christmas party last Sunday so I was really busy putting together my presents for friends and all. I made canvas panels for a few friends plus night lights for others. They turned out really cute if I may say so myself.

Of course, DH chose to be busy the week before too. He mounted the TV in the bedroom to the wall facing our bed. This now is the view I have from my bed. In all honesty, I'm not very happy with it. It isn't aesthetically pleasing!!! It's not just those wires (DH just hasn't gotten to fixing those). I would've preferred that the TV mounted flush to the wall. I saw an episode in HGTV one time when they had a mounted flatscreen too but they used an acrylic mirror over the TV. When the TV was off, it looked like a mirror. When you turned on the TV, the "mirror" does not interfere at all. Anyway, it's done and there really isn't anything I can do about it anymore. I was originally planning on surrounding the TV with some cool black square frames with B&W photos. I don't think it will work now. Maybe some home theater sconces on either sides will make the wall look more pulled together. Just have to find ones that are not too manly looking. I really want to soften the impact this TV imposes on the wall and our room. Gotta channel my inner interior designer - if there is any!!!

My busy weekend started early with DS' school program on Friday evening. Then at noon on Saturday, we attended the bridal shower of a dear dear friend who is getting married on January 2. DH was working that day so I had all 4 kids in tow. The moment we arrived at the host's home, DS exclaims, "I'm the only boy, Mom!" LOL! Poor kid! He was appeased a little bit when I holed him up in the TV room and gave him free rein of the remote! LOL! Easy way to please a man, eh?

On Sunday, we had our Christmas party. We were asked to wear costumes from our favorite era. Our group decided to go with the 50's. And guess what? Our family won as the family with the best costume! LOL! Gotta admit, my kids were really so cute! We don't have a family picture in my camera. Someone else took out picture so I'll wait till I get those and post some pics. In the meantime, this will do. These are DD1, DD2 and DS during their dance number. They just attended 1 practice. LOL! So, here they are copying their "teacher" doing the steps.

After the party, we went to pick out our Christmas tree. I did not have the energy to decorate the tree that day. I started on the lights yesterday while DH hung the outside lights. I did not get to do much because we had to leave for DD1's Christmas program in the evening. When we got home, there was just enough time to get the kids ready for bed. I then had to help DS with his family report which was due today. By the time we finished, I was just exhausted. Oh, I forgot to say that I went to the gym in the morning so my body was really crying out for the bed. But no... DH needed something laundered for work so I had to wait squeak in a load of laundry. I am telling you, as soon as my head hit the pillow, I was out! LOL!

Today was equally busy running around town. Did my grocery shopping, then to Target & Costco. We also finally got the Christmas tree trimmed and decorated. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in our house! Woohoo!

Right now, I'm feeling like I just want to veg out in bed but DH just called and asked if I can make brownies that he can take to work tomorrow. Sigh... I guess the day isn't over yet for me. I swear, tomorrow, I'm taking it easy!!!
