A step towards a healthier me

Guess what I did this morning?!

I went to yoga class! Woohoo! I started going back to the gym last week, but mostly using the machines (elliptical, bike) because I know I need to lose weight. I timed my gym time along the time of the yoga class so I could peek at what they do in class. Everyone seemed to be seasoned yoga goers. At least they looked like they knew what they were doing so I was kinda intimidated. But then, this morning I decided to jump right in. I needed to take that first step, kwim? I'm glad I did. It wasn't so bad. It was really mostly stretching and easy poses. I hope to do more and make this a part of my routine.

My goal is to get to my ideal weight by my bday in October. I can do this!!! right? I figure that if I lose 1-2 lbs a week from now till then, I'd get to my ideal weight. Slowly but surely is the game plan. And first step is to get into a regular daily exercise routine.

I've decided to go to the gym everyday - even the weekends, whenever possible. Every Wednesday, they have a Zumba class in the evening and it's something I'd love to try. It's a latin dance exercise class that is said to give you a good sweat. I'm planning on going this Wednesday. I'll let you know how I like it.
