Recovering from Vacation

We're back from Vegas. We arrived last night. The drive back wasn't so bad - a little over 3 hours - no rest stops. Bro is staying there till tomorrow when he flies back here. He's partying in Vegas with 2 of his friends who he met up with yesterday. I'm sure he's having a grand time. While I'm sure he enjoys hanging out with his nephew and nieces, Vegas is meant to be enjoyed at night! And Vegas and kids don't really mix that well.
I was slightly disappointed with the hotel we stayed at, basically because I was comparing it with an affiliate hotel we stayed in over at San Diego. We stayed at Holiday Inn Express which was off the strip because we wanted a more family-friendly room. I was expecting it to be like the one we had in San Diego - with a kitchenette, etc. We did not have a kitchenette so the bathroom vanities became my work area. I really did not cook or anything but I needed space to wash DD3's bottles and I had brought some bread and cold cuts for sandwiches.
If I did not have something to compare the place to, it would have been more than okay. The kids had fun anyway...they enjoyed jumping on the beds and walking on Bro to massage his legs and back.

We spent the whole day of Saturday walking around. The kids enjoyed playing at Circus Circus. Then we had late lunch at the Rio buffet. Took Bro to the Fremont Street experience too. The kids enjoyed the light show. It was getting rather late and frankly, the kids were all tired and cranky. We stopped by In N Out for some burgers to take back to the hotel. Had our dinner and before the kids even finished their dinner, Bro was conked out on the couch! The day wore him out! LOL!

The next day, the kids and I had a lazy morning. DH and Bro were busier as they loaded our stuff into the Armada and also picked up Bro's friend from the airport. We all went to Mass together then we dropped Bro and friend at their hotel. Said our goodbyes. We were hoping to show the kids the lions at the Lion habitat at MGM Grand but they were closed for maintenance. Bummer! So, we went to Taco Bell for lunch and headed home.
And that was our Vegas vacation...
(To my family and friends, I'll be updating our fotopages with more photos when I get the chance sometime this week so just watch for it, ok?
