The Purge
Yeah...I finally cleaned out my closet and purged out a ton of clothes! I finally parted with some clothes that I haven't worn since the start of the millenium! LOL! Sounds dramatic huh? There were some clothes I last wore in 2000 when I arrived here. Then through the years, I've found that my style has kinda evolved. I used to be the plain shirts and jeans kinda gal. I still wear those of course but I'm now into skirts too. I guess I've gotten a little more frilly and pretty!Anyhoo, I think I got about 4 trash bags filled with clothes.
Ten there were the kids' clothes. I had been hanging on to their baby clothes because I knew I wasn't done having babies then. And babies grow so quickly, they hardly wear their clothes for very long. Well, although I am not 100% sure we're done having babies (only God knows, right?), I know that these clothes are just taking up so much room! If we have another baby, well, that baby will have new clothes instead of hand-me-downs. DS is almost 7 now and I've been storing all his clothes from when he was a baby. Can you imagine how much that is? Even after using those space storage bags, it was still taking up a lot of room! So, I've given all those away too!
We have a family friend who regularly sends clothes back to the Philippines. They sponsor an orphanage and send clothes there. They have a cargo shipping side business so they're able to send their boxes regularly. I gave them all the clothes. It felt good to have cleaned out the closets and even be able to help.

Good for you! I've long been wanting to do that with the other clothes that I have here in my little space. But Papa doesn't want to give them away. I have already given out some clothes that I haven't used for a while when I moved in but it seems like there's always more when I look at my closet.
Ahh yes! I love to purge the closets. :o)Feels so great to get rid of the clutter. Even if it is sad to let go of some of the clothes from 5 years ago I want to fit in again...hehe.
