Spouse:Confidential
Just curious...who do you confide in when you're having some spat with your spouse?
do you even confide in anyone?
I know women are more likely to confide in their friends but do you tell them everything? Or are there some things better not shared out of respect for your spouse? At what point is too much information?
How about husbands? Do you confide in anyone? How do you feel when your spouse tells her friends about your troubles? Do you feel violated or disrespected? Or does it even bother you?
I've always felt that women should confide in women friends and men should confide in male friends particularly about one's relationship with the spouse. It's just asking for trouble I think when we cross gender boundaries. It's just an altogether too common occurrence. Husband and wife fight. Wife confides in male friend. She feels understood and validated. Wife runs to male friend after every spat. Soon, wife wishes husband was more like male friend. Wife finds herself falling for male friend. Wife becomes unhappy with husband. Wife and husband drift apart and separate. This can so easily happen with the husband too. Same process.
So, what do you think? Is there truth to my thoughts or am I being paranoid? Just for the record, I am not referencing anyone in particular in the above scenario, much less DH and I. Defensive ba? LOL! I just did not want my mom to worry! LOL! I know she reads my blog occasionally.
I'm just really interested...who do you confide in about your spouse? How much do you confide? How does your spouse feel about it?

Wonderful questions. I absolutely agree that women should confide in women and men with men as to not cross boudaries. I typically talk to my mom, or a couple best girl friends. There hasn't been anything really confidential that my husband would take offense to...If there were a situation that borderlined a confidential matter, out of respect for him I would not tell my friends or family until I have first worked it out with him (and if necessary have our Pastor involved?) I am confident he would do the same for me. :o)
