MUMPS!
DS has the mumps!!!He woke up yesterday with a BIG lump in his lower right jawline. Checked his temp - no fever. He fell from his bike the day before so I wondered if he hit that part of his face, Nope, he said. Gave him tylenol anyway and told him to stay in his room. When DH got home from his 24-hr shift(eek!), he checked DS and confirmed what we suspected - mumps. They went to the Dr. And yes, it is the mumps! He's on antibiotics right now. The bump has subsided but his right side is still noticeably bigger than the left. Fortunately, he is not in too much discomfort. I just feel bad for him beause it is spring break and he's spending it stuck in his room. We don't want the baby exposed. I've lent him my laptop so he can play some games.
Pls. include him in your prayers - and the other kids too that they don't contract it.

hi joy! were you vaccinated against mumps? my hubby had mumps when baby was 2 weeks old!!! the doctor told me not to worry because baby was getting my mumps antibodies from my milk. true enough, she didn't catch it.

I had mumps when I was small so yeah, I'm hoping that baby does not get it because of the anitbodies she's getting from me. Thanks for sharing your experience - this gives me more hope that baby will really be spared from it!
