There was a law passed last year here in California banning the use of hand-held cellphones while driving. I think the law will take effect early next year. Drivers then will need headsets or any hands-free devices to be able to use their cellphones or risk being apprehended. I'm sure that sale of headsets and other hands-free devices will go through the roof especially since everyone, and I mean everyone, here in California seems to yapping at their cellphones ALL the time. Cellphones have really become an essential part of life. If you're from California, grab this chance to get a free Bluetooth headset with a number of
T-Mobile phones when activating a new account and get a headstart on that new law taking effect. If you're not in California, grab the chance anyway since it really is a great deal! More often than not, these Bluetooth headsets do not come with the free cellphones that come with a new activation. These are considered accessories and frankly, I think that's where dealers get good money - the accessories! Besides, you really should not be holding that cellphone while driving. It's a danger to yourself and to the other people on the road. Now, go on...get that headset, ok?

I live in New York, and I have been stopped, but charmed my way out of a ticket. But I got a bluetooth anyway, for the reasons you stated, and I LOVE it. It's not often my teenage daughter thinks her mom is 'cool'.
A BT headset is a necessity for me since I drive. You can't imagine the number of accidents in a year brought about by cellphone use while driving. I, for one, have been in accidents caused by irresponsible people using their mobile phone while driving. It can really piss you.
That law is a good one! We already have a law here in the Philippines against mobile phone use while driving. But just like the seatbelt law, it's just one for the books. Sad isn't it?
