Birthday Recap

So I had my birthday on Saturday.
Thank you for your bday greetings. You were really sweet to send me your best wishes for a good birthday.
I sort of got my wish - to have time alone.
DH was scheduled to work that day.
That morning, he woke me up to greet me and tell me he was leaving for work. He said he would try to get off work early. I kissed him goodbye and went back to bed. After a while, being the preggo that I am, I had to get up to go to the bathroom and decided not to get back to bed anymore. SBB, my fave digital site was having an all-day crop/chat. And since I was going to spend the day at home anyway, I decided that I might as well spend it chatting with other digi-scrappers & get the freebies they would be giving away. So, there I was, on the computer, early in the morning, trying to get as much time in the computer before the 3 tykes wake up. I think I hear something downstairs but figure it was maybe my foggy brain hearing things. Then I hear someone walking up the stairs and I think it's DH who might have forgotten something. When I look out the stairs, there he was walking up with a humongous chocolate cake singing "Happy Birthday." Yup, he surprised me. He called in sick so he could spend the day with me. Sweet no?
Anyway, he and the kids hied me off to Pasadena so I could have some morning pampering at the spa. Lovely morning indeed.
We had lunch after, then went home and napped the afternoon away. Ahhhhh...
Got up just in time to get ready for church. After church, we went to a friend's house for dinner.
So, it was a nice birthday.
I got some "me" time in the morning and spent the rest of the day with loved ones. I think that was a nice compromise, don't you think?
The only thing was I didn't get to take photos! The camera ran out of batteries.
At the end of the day, DH whispers, "Happy Birthday. At least you had half a day off from taking care of the kids."
