A Sick house

...we are!

The day did not start out this sick. DS had a nasty cold and cough so I decided to keep him home. He was really congested plus it was their PE day. I didn't think that this would help him get better at all. He was of course, devastated! I do not use the word lightly. He really was devastated! After all, this was the boy who could not wait to go to school. We were starting to count down the days til his first day at Kindergarten since his classes at preschool ended in June! I just hope that this enthusiasm for school will keep up till his high school days.

Anyhoo, so I kept DS at home. My 2 girls were showing signs of a cold coming but nothing to be alarmed about. However, come lunch time, they both had a cold big time! DD2's face was streaked with snot. DD1 was breathing thru her mouth coz she was congested. They weren't complaining though. Good news for Mommy.

As nap time came though, they started getting cranky. Partly from the cold, I guess plus they were ready to take a nap but could not sleep because of the congestion. I gave them medicine to relieve the congestion, rubbed some Vicks vapor rub, sat with them on their bed and cuddled. They each fell asleep on either arm. I suppose it helped that they were propped up a bit so they could breathe easier. I was able to pry them from my arms. My arms were getting numb already! Boy, these girls are getting bigger! They are now napping. I hope they get a good nap and not wake up every few minutes.

I'm hoping it gets better soon (Dream on, huh?). This could not have come at a worse time. DH is on 24-hour duty so he does not come home till tomorrow, around noon. Just in time for me to get to DS' school as I signed up for lunch duty, then I'm off to my Dr. appt. So I really need to rest too. Otherwise, tomorrow will be a loooong day.

I just wanted to post this and log off. I'm going to try and nap while the girls are napping.
