Kindergarten

DS started kindergarten today.

And I am a proud mama...

He looked so big in his uniform. When we arrived at his school, he lined up with the rest of his class, walked up to his room and said goodbye. Yup, he did not need me at all. But of course, he could not get rid of me before taking any pictures! There were some kids who looked nervous. A few were crying. But my big boy was just fine!

But I am also a teary-eyed mama...

Yup, I admit it, I got a little choked up while I was driving into the school parking lot. I saw all these kids walking to school and I felt tears well up in my eyes. I don't know why. I still don't know what prompted the tears. I blame it on the pregnancy hormones! LOL. I quickly put myself together anyhow.

Add to that a nostalgic mama...

I don't remember vividly my kindergarten days. But I remember that I was really excited too. I was supposed to take the bus and was really excited about that but we realized that the bus was going to come by our place too early. So, no bus for me. But I know I was excited nevertheless. Ms. Cosme was my teacher.

Speaking of being excited, DS was so excited last night about going to Kindergarten that he could not fall asleep! LOL.

I had tucked him into bed and he kept coming out saying he needed to go to the bathroom. Finally on the third time, I asked him if he was excited. Well, do you know what he told me? He said he was excited but it was not what was keeping him awake. He said that his brain was snoring and so he could not fall asleep! LOL! After a while, he came back out to tell me that he told his brain to stop snoring and that it did so now he was ready to sleep.
Then, at about 4 am, I think, I feel someone squeezing into our bed. I was surprised to see DS. He almost never does this anymore. We let him sleep in our bed. I'm thinking if he woke up so early that he thought it was time to go to school already or maybe he moved to our bed to make sure that he gets up on time. Whatever it was, we were up at 6:30. Even the girls did well. I gave them all breakfast. By 7, they were getting dressed and ready. By 7:30, I was loading everyone up into the car. And we were in school with time to spare. Which was what I really wanted. I wanted to be a little early because a. I knew that parking would be horrible b. I knew that it would take time for me to get the kids out of the car into the stroller and load up all of the school supplies too and c. I wanted DS to have some time to collect himself when we got to the school before being whisked away to his room.

So, I'm pretty proud of how we did this morning. We're off to a good start.
