There is news that hurricane Irene worsens and takes a tighter aim on the East Coast. Brace yourselves, my family and friends over there. I hope that you've got your fiberglass storm shelters ready or have storm shutters on your windows.Here are some more tips to help you prepare and hopefully minimize the damage to your homes:
- Install straps or additional clips to securely fasten your roof to the frame structure. This will reduce roof damage.
- Be sure trees and shrubs around your home are well trimmed.
- Clear loose and clogged rain gutters and downspouts.
- Determine how and where to secure your boat.
- Consider building a safe room.
