Stand Up and Scrap

The Stand Up and Scrap contest is done. The winners were announced last Tuesday. I didn't place - not a surprise. Of the 6 LO's I made for the contest, I absolutely love my first 3. I know I poured everything out on those 3 pages. I was really pumped and spent a great deal of time making them just so. But then, I lost steam. Real life stuff cropped up that drained most of my good energy and I was close to just quitting. I argued between "If I can't give it my all, I'd rather quit than submit a page I don't LOVE." and "I made a commitment to finish all 6 weeks, even if I am not producing at my absolute best, I should give the best I can at this time." Well, I chose to continue on. And even though I could see the decline in my creativity with each LO, I am glad I chose to finish. I had never entered any contest. So, this was a learning experience. What did I learn? That I really scrap for myself! LOL! I don't create trailblazing, award-winning LO's. But I'm ok with that. I'm happy - no, more than happy - with the pages I create. And ultimately, I'm glad that I'm able to preserve our family's memories!
