The Heat is on

Oh my goodness! Is the heat on or what? This is getting ridiculous, I tell you! The heat wave has hit So.Cal so hard. Earlier today, I went to do the groceries. I am usually at the store about an hour or so. When I get back on my car, the car thermometer read 116 degrees! Yes...one hundred sixteen degrees fahrenheit! This is not funny anymore! Add to the heat, the bane of ants! I thought that we had staved off the yearly summer attack of ants. Usually, during the summer, when the heat comes, ants come marching into the house - looking for a cooler place to hang around perhaps? Well, I was just commenting to SIL the other week that we have not had that problem all summer. It was the same at her place. So, I *thought* we were saved from it this summer, considering that summer is about to end. But noooooo...the ant gods heard me and now they are here full force! Ugh! I suppose the extreme heat have pushed them into cooler homes too!
Oh dear, I hope this heat wanes real soon.
