Marathon for a cause

My SIL is doing the marathon again to raise funds to build homes for the poor in the Philippines. Pls. consider donating, even just a dollar, to the cause. Every cent literally counts. More importantly, please include her in your prayers. She is a beautiful person with a really good heart.
She usually sends updates and I'll be posting those in this blog when they come.
This week, she writes:
" Well, I'm doing the Gawad Kalinga (GK) Hero's Run Long Beach marathon again this year, on October 14; my third year in a row doing it. The past two years have been such unforgettable experiences that I decided to do it again this year.
Last year, the funds the runners raised helped build 5 GK Villages (each Village has anywhere from 60-100 families). Imagine that! Being able to provide 500 very poor, homeless families (Yes. FAMILIES, not just INDIVIDUALS) with a decent home and other basic needs. Simply amazing and truly inspiring. So why not be part of it again, right?
We still do our weekly training runs. This weekend we run 14 miles (I know, I know...we're THIS far into our training program and I'm only telling you about it now. Sorry 'bout that). Do pray for good weather for us. Pray that all the runners who will be training this weekend be injury-free and complete all 14 miles with no hassle. My right knee has been bothering me when I run lately so please pray that it doesn't continue to cause me pain.
Here I am again, asking for your help and support for my mission this year. It doesn't matter how much you will donate. EVERY DOLLAR MATTERS! Let's do this together!
You may use this link to donate (tax-deductible) online quickly & securely. You will receive email confirmation of your donation and I will be notified as soon as you make your donation: Active giving
