Tagalog funnies
Funny #1DD1 and DD2 were laying in bed with me one night while I was nursing DD3 ...
DD1: Mommy, my back is itchy. I want kamot. (Pls. scratch it)
Me: Di ko abot kasi dede pa si DD3. (I can't reach your back coz I'm nursing DD3)
DD1: Di abot ko din. I want kamot. (I can't reach it either. Pls. scratch it.)
Me: DD2, pls help Ate. Kamot mo likod nya. (Scratch your sister's back)
DD2: Already ...
DD1: No, she did not ...
Me: DD2, kamot mo yung likod ni Ate, pls. (Scratch your sister's back, pls.)
DD2: already! see?
I peer over DD1 where DD2 is laying and she's laying there under the blankets.
DD2: See, already kumot!
Kumot is the Tagalog word for blanket while kamot is the Tagalog word for scratch. She thought we were asking her to get under the covers. Can't blame her ... kumot - kamot ...they definitely sound similar! LOL!
Funny#2
While we were driving to the grocery earlier today, DD1 was singing "Tomorrow" at the backseat.
DD1: When I'm stuck in a day that's gray and lonely, I just stick out my tiyan and grin and saaaaayyyyy ...
Me: Stick out my what?
DD1: Stick out my tiyan.
Me: It's chin sweetie...
DD1: What's a chin?
I point to the chin.
DD1: Oh, it's not tiyan?
Tiyan(pronounced as "chan") is the Tagalog word for stomach. Again, can't blame her - they do sound very similar! LOL!
