The baptism
DD3's baptism went well yesterday. She did really well. Even when water was poured on her head, she didn't cry at all! There were 3 babies who were baptized, including DD3 so the ceremony was pretty quick. It was Deacon Greg who did the baptism. He was also the one who baptized my 2 other girls. As I said, DD3 behaved really well. DD2 on the other hand, was an entirely different story! She was all over the place!!! OMG! She was running here and there, playing hide and seek. For a moment, she was even at the bottom of the steps leading to the altar. Seemed like she was ready to pounce on Deacon Greg! Hahaha...
We had the reception at a local Italian restaurant. When we reserved the place, they said that they would not be closing the place for us. But since our party would be at an odd time, they would probably have no other patrons so we would pretty much have the place to ourselves. Well, to my surprise, when we arrived at the restaurant, they had a sign by the door that they were closed till 7 pm for a private party! Whoa...that's us! they set up 3 sets of long tables for us. The service was very good. The guests enjoyed the food. My friend and DD3's godmother provided the cake - 2 cakes, in fact! One was chocolate cake with raspberry filling. The other was a lemon bundt cake. Yummy! And they looked so good. See the pictures for yourself!
An added blessing too was that we paid far less than we were expecting. We made a reservation for 40 people, including children. We were charged only for 22 adults because the children were given kids' meals which were far less than their charge for the adults. DH and I were surprised when we got the bill that it was much less than what we anticipated. Not that we were complaining, of course. So we decided to add to the gratuity already included in the bill.
So, that was our day - indeed a day of blessings!
