Nosy neighbors

"Mom, our neighbors have a new Ford car!" DS excitedly tells me.
"Huh?"
"They have a new car in their garage, look!" pointing to the neighbors who live across the street. "They did not have that car before."
"Oh, I see..." I mumbled.

So, at what point does being observant become nosiness?
