I'm Proud of Us!

DH has successfully completed his fellowship program as Physician Assistant in Orthopedic Surgery!!! When he started 13 months ago, it seemed such an uphill climb but we knew that it was doable. It took a lot of sacrifice from everyone in the family but with God's grace, the 13 months went by quickly. As their medical director said, DH obviously had time outside of the rigorous fellowship schedule because we've got a newborn baby! LOL!

Before he began the program, I was a little anxious because although the program gave them some compensation, it was considerably lower (about half) than what he normally takes home at his regular job. It took a lot of careful planning and budgeting but we did it. God promised that He would provide for us and that is exactly what he did! We thought that we would have to dip into our savings. Believe it or not, our savings have remained untouched! Only through God's divine providence, I tell ya!

DH and the family was also praying that he would find a job as an Ortho PA with his current employer. Well, 3 days before his graduation, he was offered a position! So happy for him! He does not show excitement very often but this time he was beaming. Oh how I loved seeing him so happy! He was teasing me and asking me what stuff I wanted because we could now afford it. "Want to buy gold online?" Sure! LOL!

As I watched him all giddy with excitement, I told him that I was so proud of him.
"No, you're proud of us! I'm proud of us," he replied with a grin.

He may have borrowed that line from the movie Monsters vs. Aliens but I'll take the sentiment behind that remark. It feels good to have the sacrifices I've made acknowledged too.
